My name is Alexander Homann and  I am 43 years old.  For over twenty years now, I have been a journalist with the BRF, Belgischer Rundfunk, the German service of Belgian radio and television. As a civil servant, I had the privilege to take several sabbatical years which I spent abroad e.g. with the German TV SR Saarländischer Rundfunk or as Sub Editor with EuroNews, the multilingual news station in Lyon, France.

My role as one of the three “good will ambassadors” for Pinocchio started only in October 2009, when I was asked to join the fabulous team of Pinocchio as a representative of the German speaking part of Belgium.

I did not hesitate for a split second, because I was thinking back of the unforgettable time I spent as a cancer patient in a hospital in Brussels : the long months of revalidation, when my wife Suzana, together with the medical staff helped me overcome the disease and cope with its side effects.

That’s why I am so happy to be given the chance,  to give back a little something to the young burns patients.
