The burns of children and teenagers may require intensive care and sometimes painful treatment. The doctors and nursing staff will spare no effort to minimize the pain and anxiety.

The Pinocchio association tries to brighten hospitalization by simple but so appreciated actions with children :

- a small gift after care
- purchase of toys or videos
- visit of St Nicolas, and Father Christmas
- weekly visit of Antwerp hospital’s clowns
- building of a games room
- chocolate eggs at Easter

Pain and fear will be mitigated by doing these activities.
The stay in the Burned Centre will be more pleasant for children.
