In my position of chairwoman of the Pinocchio National Association, I had the opportunity in the course of the past two years, to learn to better know the association.
During my visits to the crenotherapy and thermal camps and to Saint Nicolas for the celebration of the 10 years of existence of Pinocchio, I was very much moved by how these young children could speak openly about their burns. Through conversations I had with their parents and relatives, I felt the great suffering these children and their relatives had experienced. The source of strength that helps them give a smile every time we had the opportunity to meet will ever remain a mystery.
I would like to encourage the numerous volunteers, health care staff, nurse's aids and all those who spend their time helping burned patients letting them know that my heart and mind is with them.
